I have been interested in homebirth since before I had children. While completing graduate school for a PhD in Marine Ecology in Davis, CA in 1999, I was introduced to the concept of homebirth and immediately captivated. I began reading everything I could find about birth and decided that my first birth would be at home. However, it wasn’t until a few years after the births of my daughters in 2003 and 2005 that I was able to pursue my interests professionally. I have lived in San Luis Obispo County since 2006 with my wonderfully supportive husband and three daughters.

I began my journey to midwifery in 2008 as a childbirth educator, then became a doula. After gaining some experience and knowledge, I apprenticed with Edana and Kristi McKee while being enrolled in National Midwifery Institute. In 2015, I became a Certified Professional Midwife and a California Licensed Midwife. I am passionate about this life as a midwife: supporting women and their families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
