Waterbirth
Holistic Midwifery Care has its own AquaDoula birth tub available for rent. Please give plenty of notice if you would like to use the tub, it is a popular tool at births. The benefits of birthing in water are numerous. The warmth of the water relaxes the mother and helps her to feel weightless so she can move around more easily. The water also provides some perineal support which aids in preventing tears. Waterbirths are believed to be a gentler transition for the baby as they make their journey into your arms. Well Woman Care
At Holistic Midwifery Care, we offer well-woman care which includes annual pap exams, STI testing, and breast exams. The appointments are unhurried and the midwife communicates with you about what she is doing and why. She is focused on your comfort and will take the time to answer your questions.
Homebirth
(women over 35 and VBAC's ARE considered normal).
Professional Labor Support
If you decide that a homebirth is not the choice for you, our staff is available for professional labor support. We have experience with labor and birth and are knowledgable in ways to comfort a birthing woman. We can be there to reassure, and nurture the mother.
Childbirth Education
We have a childbirth educator on staff who facilitates Birth Works International classes. Birth Works philosophies include that a woman will birth best wherever she feels safest and that the knowledge on how to birth exists within us, we simply need to allow it to surface. Breastfeeding Support
We are hosting a breastfeeding support group every Thursday from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM in our office. Currently, it is an open discussion led by one of our midwives. Any nursing mother is welcome as well as their children.

We are proud to announce that we are now selling Mother Love Herbal products in our office. Choose from belly oil, nipple cream, More Milk tinctures among others. We also carry other herbal products. Give us a call to set up a consultation.

General Info
Our appointments with you generally run from 45 minutes to 2 hours for an initial visit. This gives you plenty of time to ask questions and become educated about the beautiful process of pregnancy, birth, and your body. We believe that pregnancy and birth are a normal part of the life process.
